Ulan was a great teacher! She was very friendly, active in class and full of great examples to help remember vocabulary. She was good at spotting weak vocab and tried to review further which helped a lot. I could not have asked for a better teacher!

Mengapa belajar Bahasa Indonesia? Learning a language takes time. You have to put in the effort and spend time studying and practising. Be patient and above all have fun! Enjoy the experience of learning Bahasa Indonesia in Bali. What better thing to do than to learn how to communicate in Indonesia. Terima kasih untuk mengajar Bahasa Indonesia saya, dan sampai bertemu lagi! Private or group learning, it all works effectively. Learning Indonesian takes time, you need patience. Don’t give up, keep going, keep using whatever you learn wherever you can. It’s fun!

At Intermediate Level, Arie and Winda were both creative and considerate teachers who engaged with me and extended my speaking fluency in Bahasa. Arie had fantastic resources from advertising and short stories as well as experience to share. Winda shared her Balinese culture and modern lifestyle of the current youth generation and was really open and friendly. I enjoyed the people and the language through them!

A great process for learning practical “on the street” Indonesian with teachers who have a genuine interest in seeing their students succeed.

The Intermediate Class 2A was good for reviewing and learning new concepts. Yasa is a good teacher.

I think Ulan is a wonderful teacher. She can speak English and Japanese very well, that makes the course very efficient to study together. Her personality is also wonderful, very kind, working hard, open minded, always happy to learn everything. I really like her. I want to learn more sometime in the future.

We have just finished 20 hours Intermediate Course with Handi. He is a tremendous teacher: enthusiastic, personable and very knowledgeable. I have no reservation in recommending both the course and Handi to anybody who is wishing to improve their Bahasa and will definitely be looking to take another course soon.

Before attending classes with Arie at Cinta Bahasa I was not ‘drawn’ to the Indonesian language at all and therefore did not pick up very much in the 1 ½ years of living on Bali. With Bali now being a ‘place to call home’ my respect and desire for clear communication had me enroll for beginner group lessons. I am excited to share that I am beginning to ‘fall in love’ with the language and had much more fun learning than I thought possible. I only had a short time, so I opted for private lessons. I cannot believe how much you can learn in such a short time!!! The staff are flexible, friendly, open and professional. My private lessons with Daniel/Cinta Bahasa were the best investment I could have made in my 3 months in Bali. By the end of the time I could carry on a conversation in Indonesian, which enriched my time enormously. My friend is so happy to begin learning Indonesian, she’s been wanting to do this for a long time but you know how it is, sometimes when you move to a new place it takes a while to get off your butt and do it. “I have supported several engineering projects in Indonesia over the last dozen years and during that time have taken numerous private as well as group Bahasa classes. Unfortunately, none of them had any impact on my Bahasa skills and I remained a typical “illiterate” expat. To overcome my language deficiency I decided to try Cinta Bahasa in Ubud, Bali. I wasn’t able to fit into one of their pre-arranged classes due to my work schedule but Ochie and her staff were very flexible in setting up one-on-one classes that exactly fit my needs. I worked with Daniel and Tony on a daily basis for 3 weeks (45 hours total) and now have the confidence to speak out. These two guys are great! They worked together as a team to teach me the fundamentals, all the while keeping me motivated and keeping me learning. Their lesson plans were clear and we moved forward at a steady pace. I also enjoyed staying at the nearby Sunny Blow Villa hotel. The Ubud area is a great place to explore and I was able to take weekend trips to see the sights around Bali. Overall, it was a thoroughly productive and enjoyable experience. If you’re serious about learning Bahasa you need to seriously consider Cinta Bahasa!”
