Cinta Bahasa offers Indonesian Language training for Small Groups with a maximum of 6 students in the group, as well as Private Courses for Individuals, Couples, Families, Groups, Organizations and Businesses. Please see below for our Language Course Options.

Small-Group Beginner Indonesian Course:
This fun and interesting, yet very effective introduction to Bahasa Indonesia is every weekday for two hours per day for one month. You will learn how to pronounce and read words; introduce yourself, your friends and your family; ask questions about people and things; use numbers and money; shop for items you want, negotiate and order items in a restaurant; tell the time and date; make comparisons and express preferences, and give directions! You will also learn important aspects of Indonesian and Balinese Culture and Etiquette.

The next course starts Monday, July 1st.
Classes are 9.30-11.30am, 12.30-2.30pm and 6-8pm if at least 4 students are registered for each class time.
Course Tuition
The cost of the course is scaled according to the number of students in the group. Normally each group is full and so each student pays the lowest rate. If the first group is full, then the second group pays the same low rate as the first group.

Small-Group Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate Courses:
This course is for those who have some familiarity with the Indonesian language but feel they are below the Intermediate Level, which is basically defined as having a vocabulary above 500 words and able to maintain a simple conversation on basic subjects.
The Course is 20 hours, and starts concurrently, so please Register and ask about the start date for the next Pre-Intermediate Course.

I was really impressed with the quality and expertise of Novi, the teacher. She adapted everything to a variety of levels of the pre-intermediate students, handled a wide variety of questions from students so that we all felt included and this sometimes disturbed her lesson plans – yet she handled all without anyone missing out on anything. She brought information in later lessons to expand on our questions. It amazed me that she interacted with each of us at our levels, ‘pushing’ each of us where we needed it! The lessons were really well organized, didn’t introduce an overwhelming amount of new words and built on previous words – all very clever!

We offer Private 1:1 Indonesian Language Courses for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level students at times convenient for you. Our Private Indonesian Teacher can teach at your place or at our location in Ubud, Sanur or Canggu.

Intensive Indonesian Language Courses:
You may also choose to take Intensive Immersion Private Classes for 60, 80, 100 hours or more. Some students have learned intensively full time for several months, learning for 250 hours or more to become advanced fluent communicators.

I have supported several engineering projects in Indonesia over the last dozen years and during that time have taken numerous private as well as group Bahasa classes. Unfortunately, none of them had any impact on my Bahasa skills and I remained a typical “illiterate” expat.
To overcome my language deficiency I decided to try Cinta Bahasa in Ubud, Bali. I wasn’t able to fit into one of their pre-arranged classes due to my work schedule but Ochie and her staff were very flexible in setting up one-on-one classes that exactly fit my needs.
I worked with Daniel and Tony on a daily basis for 3 weeks (45 hours total) and now have the confidence to speak out. These two guys are great! They worked together as a team to teach me the fundamentals, all the while keeping me motivated and keeping me learning. Their lesson plans were clear and we moved forward at a steady pace. I also enjoyed staying at the nearby Sunny Blow Villa hotel.
The Ubud area is a great place to explore and I was able to take weekend trips to see the sights around Bali. Overall, it was a thoroughly productive and enjoyable experience.
If you’re serious about learning Bahasa you need to seriously consider Cinta Bahasa!

Learn Bahasa Indonesia Online Before You Come to Indonesia!
If you would like to learn Bahasa Indonesia before you come to Indonesia, we can arrange an online course, with a real live teacher, for you.
We do this using skype, email and other easy-to-use resources.
You will be learning directly with one of our professional teachers who is based in Ubud, Bali. Then, if you are ever in Ubud, you can come and meet us and your teacher in person!

I’m planning to come to Indonesia later this year to sail around the Islands, and I tried to learn with books, computer programs and podcasts but it just didn’t do it for me. I realized I needed to learn to speak Indonesian with a live teacher. I had no idea it would be possible! I added them on skype and within hours they were in touch with me and we arranged lessons for the next day. Daniel is an excellent teacher, I could see him and hear him clearly enough. He sent me their textbook in acrobat format, and showed me how easy it was to work on the same document online, so it was almost like he was right in front of me. It’s so great that we have the technology, this would never have been possible before. Sekarang saya sudah bisa bahasa Indonesia! I look forward to visiting Indonesia!

Indonesian Conversation Classes
There will be a fun topic for each class, chosen by teacher and/or you together, then we will discuss the topic together in bahasa Indonesia. The teacher will give you new vocabulary related to the topic, teach you how to express your opinion, how to speak in the community, and correcting your sentences if needed. This is a perfect opportunity to practice your Indonesian regularly with other students and learn new things!

Indonesian Language and Culture Course
Cinta Bahasa, together with the Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) in Ubud, as well as other educational institutions are offering part-day and full-day immersion programs.
You’ll learn Bahasa Indonesia in the morning, and in the afternoon, you’ll learn from a wide variety of artistic and cultural activities, including but not limited to: Balinese Dance, Painting, Wood & Stone Carving, Wayang Puppetry, Gamelan, Basketry, Making Offerings, Balinese Prayer, Yoga and Meditation, Balinese Cooking, Hinduism, History, Silver Jewelry, Batik Painting & Printing, Balinese Construction & Architecture, Medicinal Herbs & Spices.
You can choose to homestay, that is to live with a local Balinese family and participate in their daily rituals and activities.

5 and 10 Day Language, Culture and Society Immersion & Study Courses
For those students who are already at a conversational level in bahasa Indonesia, Cinta Bahasa’s 5 & 10 Day Language, Culture and Society Indonesian Language Immersion Programs will take you deeper into the subjects that interest you.
The Program is 3 Sessions a day: 2 Sessions of Class for 1,5 hours with time to introduce or discuss the subject and institutions that will be visited, plus 1 field trip to visit institutions and meet with experts in the field for 2-3 hours each day. You may choose to visit a different institution each day, or focus on one or a few institutions during the full period.
